A 1922 Chevrolet Speedster
An attractive 1922 Chevrolet 490 Speedster or Sports, with a 2.8 litre four cylinder engine, notably with overhead valves. An original UK market right hand drive car. In the 1920s Chevrolet imported chassis's from Canada to avoid duty. Hence this could be an original or a very good later professional replacement body. Now an older restoration.
Off the road for a few years in two consecutive collections (one being mine), it was re-commissioned by a local specialist garage a year ago with rebuilt starter, new battery etc, and driven home but not used subsequently. It has very good compression and oil pressure. The body is very good and presents well with a few paint blemishes etc. There are flat spots on the front tyres from standing but the two spares are unused. Minor re-commissioning will be needed again for road use. It has a removable brass-bound trunk. V5C. Now offered for sale due to owner's age and mobility.
